Peter is a trained artist having spent four years at the Hull College of Art, England. Moving to Chelsea in 1971 he was mentored by Ben John, the grandson of Augustus John and Robert Scott the son of William Scott. Although he pursued commercial art and industrial design, fine art was an inherent born passion for him. Living through and being part the pop art era of the 70’s, gave Peter his formal skills & creative definition.

Moving to Australia in 1978, family and business activities presided over fine art creativity. In 2005 Peter re-created himself. Peter’s work reflects the quote “drawing is the cornerstone of all art”. The masters would agree, life drawing is the most difficult. Peter’s peers have commented that he has truly mastered life drawing, mastering his life is an ongoing project Peter, with his incisive and interpretive bird studies, has uniquely connected with their character, movement and individual personalities. All the paintings are created from friendly, real and living subjects. His original source is from life, his personal records and sketches.

Peter’s influences are condensed to four artists, all masters of life drawing. Leonardo Da Vinci for anatomical studies, Gustav Klimt for visual passion, David Hockney for interpretation and Lucian Freud for a raw, but brutal style.
